I still have a little work to do.
After my doctor said I was ready to go home, I was eager to get going and was glad to be home. However, my work wasn’t done yet. I received outpatient therapy from Mulberry’s Reclaim Care a couple of times a week.
When I finished my therapy treatment and was almost back to 100%, I realized that my time post surgery and in Reclaim allowed me to focus on myself for a change. Don’t get me wrong, I loved raising my kids and especially love spending time with my grandkids, but the time I had to myself at Mulberry was a nice change of pace.
I also have to admit, that the time I spent working with my rehab therapists made me realize that I probably should be exercising more than what I was pre-surgery. I say this because if you call walking to the fridge to get another ice cream sandwich exercise, then I was exercising. Besides, I want to be around to see my great-grandchildren, so I decided that I better get with the program now, while there is still time.
I called that day and took Mulberry up on their offer to join the Fit for Life Wellness Program. Before you turn up your nose to the word wellness – there is no weird food found in this program. It is just a “keep you active” program that is geared towards us – the mature but active individual.
I really enjoy it and think you will too.
